SPACE Architecture worked with the developer of this design & build commercial office building on behalf of the tenant to ensure their operational and aesthetic requirements were met.
A flexibility of spatial arrangement was essential to allow for future growth in staff numbers. The office fitout included a large open plan work area with space for team meetings, separate offices for the CEO and Executive Managers, as well as a boardroom, reception/waiting area, staff cafeteria and breakout space.
The penetration of natural light into all work areas was also a prerequisite. This was made possible by the careful placement of windows and clerestory glazing with internal glazed screens allowing borrowed light to filter through into the open plan spaces and corridors.
The interior aesthetic is sophisticated to suit a contemporary corporate business.
Special attention to detail was focused on the public areas of the main entrance, reception/waiting area, interview room and boardroom.
A large double height entry space has an immediate
impact on visitors.
The colours and finishes were kept simple and honest. Light neutral lacquers paired with rich dark-stained timber veneer to add depth and luxurious-ness to the interior space.
The glazed entry along with long landscape format windows allow for sufficient natural light, and also frame strategic views to the foothills and adjacent native reserve whilst screening adjoining buildings.
