This project included the refurbishment of the boardroom and cafeteria to make these spaces work more efficiently. The boardroom was outdated and the shape of the room made it difficult to occupy efficiently.
It was identified that the room could be partitioned off and a smaller new meeting room formed without compromising the main space.
The tea making facility included the design of a joinery unit to cope with 170 staff all wanting a cup of tea at the same time!! A suitable tea/coffee making hub was designed which integrates coffee percolators, boiling water taps, fridge and other accessories required to make a good brew.
SPACE have also been the architects involved in a number of other projects for ESR including the refurbishment of the Kenepuru Science Centre, which comprised of the upgrade of the commercial laboratories and offices to rationalise planning and improve workflows.
