Developed Design / Detailed Design

Step 6

At this stage the concept design will be developed and refined, incorporating any changes and suggestions discussed between you and your designer. We will finalise space planning (indoor and outdoor), exterior forms and materials.

We will also investigate the structural considerations for the proposed building and provide suggestions on various systems and our approach to detailing the building.

We encourage you to enlist the services of our landscape designer and interior designer at this early stage, as their ideas and input can prove to be invaluable and can also be incorporated into the design before we proceed into contract drawings.

Developed Sketch Plans will be produced as finalised floor plans, site plan and elevations and may also include a developed computer model or perspective sketch if required. The drawings will portray how the building relates to the site, sun and views.

They will be detailed enough to depict the interior spatial volumes, indoor / outdoor flow, and interior fitting and furniture layouts. These drawings are sufficient to obtain a PIM (project information memorandum) from the local authority.

They will contain sufficient information to finalise the design and gain your approval before moving into contract drawings and documentation. You may chose to engage an independent quantity surveyor at this stage, to gain more comprehensive costings.
